There has been a Young Carers group at the Oxford Academy for a number of years now. A young carer is someone who takes on extra responsibilities in their home because a sibling or another family member has additional needs. They sometimes have to live with pressure and expectations both from school and home. So,once every two weeks, students who are identified as young carers are given the opportunity if they want it, to come together to chill, play games, cook or do some crafts.
